Ajax are set to challenge Arsenal for the signing of Marouane Fellaini with his inveitable departure from Manchester United.
Fellaini’s contract at Manchester United will run out on July 1st, with Arsenal being rumoured to be the favourites to be keen on signing the midfielder.
But Ajax have reportedly also joined the race for the signature of the Belgian, according to calciomercato.it.
Reports also suggest that Fellaini’s staff have met with the Dutch the club, visiting their training facilities.
Despite this, there has yet to be a formal offer made by the Eredivisie runners up.
Fellaini would be a huge coup for Ajax and could held to cheer up the Amsterdam fans who are likely to lose stars Justin Kluivert and Hakim Ziyech this summer.
Arsenal are of course still in pole position to sign Fellaini, but the chance for a new challenge abroad for Fellaini may be one he can’t resist.
